Our Story

Greetings !!!

In history of mankind, man is subject to severe limitation. Such limitation includes time and space and the knowledge abilities of man to overcome these limitations within the very short terms of his life on earth.  The struggles to overcome these limitations can be categorically seen to exit in two forms.

The first way man usually comforts himself in encountering the unknown external phenomena is to postulate some miraculous existence of superpower in the universe and the embodied control mechanism exercised by this superpower. These theories have however been demolished or scrutinized by the scientific discoveries. The earth is no longer in the modern time conceived as flat as man would perceive in thousand years ago.

The second way man attempts to pursue is to employ scientific methods to prove or disprove the first one. Since science is a method of discovering things in the universe, it has in itself a limitation of hypothesis, instruments, methodologies and human paradigms. Life on earth keeps evolving in different directions regardless.

Applied Buddhism Institute is established as a practical synchronization for scientific practitioners, academic and religious workers from different backgrounds and sectarianism. “There are many ways to skin a cat” as said English proverb. Science and Religions can work in synchronization to construct better methods for building a better world.  Involving yourself in Applied Buddhism Institute, you will be asked to challenge your known paradigms both scientifically and religiously.  At the end of the day, you may discover the meaning of your life, and obtain fulfillments before your departure to another world, if there is one.

Please open the door to the Institute and enjoy working for your Endeavour.

With Metta,

Ven. Prof. Dr. Visuddhamma
