Learning the Buddha’s Teachings – ONLINE Course
Duration: 1 year
Each week includes a recorded teaching, detailed explanations, sutta references, a quiz, and discussion through the learning platform.
Primary References:
The Dhammapada and the Majjhima Nikāya (Middle-Length Discourses) form the core materials. Other suttas from the Dīgha Nikāya, Saṁyutta Nikāya, and Aṅguttara Nikāya may be referenced as needed. Comparative reflections from Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna, and even Christian texts may be introduced for deeper understanding.
Printed Materials:
Seven printed books are available and offered as a free donation (dāna) to registered students, including:
- The Dhammapada
- A Summary of the Majjhima Nikāya
- Commentaries on the Majjhima Nikāya
- Light Your Own Lamp
- Middle Length Discourses
- Comparative Middle Length Discourses
- Mindfulness in Plain English
Quiz booklets are also included.
Requirements:
- Weekly quizzes and reflective questions must be completed on MOODLE.
- Login credentials will be sent to your registered email (please note this email is not sent immediately).
- All assignments must be submitted by 6:00 PM every Thursday.
- Missing two assignments without notice may result in account deactivation.
Live Sessions:
Students may be invited to share their reflections during weekly online meetings (via Meet or Zoom), based on the topic.

As this is an internal course, all materials are for personal study only. Please do not share without the permission of the author or instructors to avoid misunderstanding.
